How It Works:
Customers can add items to their cart, check out with Shop Pay, and choose to pay in installments. The first payment is due at checkout, and the remaining payments are automatically charged to their card saved on Shop Pay. After you make your first payment at checkout, you'll be charged either biweekly or monthly, depending on the installment payment option you chose. You'll be reminded by email and SMS text (if applicable) before each payment is charged to your card. You can also turn on push notifications in the Shop app to be reminded. However, you can't customize your payment schedule.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Customers must have a billing address in the United States
- Customers must be signed up for Shop Pay
- The total order amount must be between $50 and $20,000.
- If you're ordering a physical product that requires shipping, then you need to provide a United States shipping address. If you're only purchasing digital products, then a United States shipping address isn't required.
- For orders split into four bi-weekly payments, you need to pay with a supported credit card or debit card.
- For orders paid for in monthly installment payments, you can only pay with a supported debit card.
Limitations
The following limitations apply to Shop Pay Installments. If any of the below limitations apply to your order, then you can't use Shop Pay Installments to pay for that order:
- You can't pay for an order if the order includes currency in any form, including virtual and digital currency, such as gift cards.
- You can't pay for a Shop Pay Installments order using a Capital One card, Chase credit card, prepaid debit cards, or prepaid credit cards.
Payment Options:
Available payment options are as follows:
- For orders between 50 USD to 999.99 USD, you can split your purchase into four bi-weekly, interest-free installment payments. There are no additional charges, interest rates, or late fees for this option. There's no impact to your credit score when you apply, but loan and payment information may be shared with credit reporting agencies.
- For orders between 150 USD to 20,000 USD, you can split your purchase into monthly installment payments. While there are no late fees for monthly installment payments, your order is subject to interest fees. There's no impact to your credit score when you apply, but loan and payment information may be shared with credit reporting agencies.
